1/2 cup candy corn, plus extra for garnish
1 1/2 cups vodka
Ice
2 ounces orange liqueur
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 large egg white
In a jar with an airtight lid, combine the 1/2 cup candy corn with the vodka. Cover and set aside for 3 hours. When ready, strain out and discard the solids. To prepare the drinks: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1/2 cup of the candy corn vodka, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and egg white. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Strain into 2 chilled martini glasses. Garnish with candy corn (the photo shows a piece of candy corn somehow stuck to the edge of the glass).
This recipe makes me wonder if the candy corn imparts a particular flavor to the vodka, or the net effect would be the same with just plain sugar. If I ever get some candy corn I might try it.
I have fallen behind on my MyBloggers time, so need to catch up on what everyone has been posting. It's because I'm knitting a sweater and doing a few chores around here to winterize the place.
