Relay for Life.

Here this is the weekend of Relay for Life. Having lost so many people in my life to cancer, I'm a huge supporter. It has become quite an event here. One of the most touching moments is when they light the luminaries and the survivors take a lap followed by families and caregivers. It's very moving because the word H-O-P-E is spelled out on the football bleachers where they hold the event. It's very touching when these wonderful people take a victory lap on the track.

The teams walk all night long. There are various booths where you can purchase food, trinkets and relay ware. It's really a fun time and a great fund raiser for American Cancer Society

The luminaries that line the walks are dedicated to survivors and to those who have been taken by this horrible disease. This year I have 3 in my life who have lost their lives to this terrible disease.

Truth is, most people are touched by this disease in some way shape or form. If you can give, please go to the Relay for Life website and make a donation to the AMerican Cancer Society. I'll take photos tonight and post them for all to see. Later.
