I may not be noticeable or visual
But I am here.
I observe from the sidelines
Watching the winter pass
Deep within my cocoon
Waiting for spring.
You might not even see me
If you walk by.
I'm so still and tucked away.
My heart and my head
covered from the World
With the grief of years.
I'm not unhappy, just quiet
longing for the spring to
Turn the leaves green
And bring the warm wind
To stir my very soul
Back to life.
Quietly, oh so quietly
I wait in my own skin
Wishing time away
Yet savoring the warmth
Of my thoughts.
