I don't understand the constant bickering going on in the US today. Republicans, Democrats, religious, non-religious. I guess what I'd like to know is why, exactly, as Americans, can't we just well, get along? Doesn't everybody get tired of fighting? You know it is a little like a turtle running into a wall. Let me explain.
Box turtle showed up outside my door one day. Florida has lots of wildlife. Anyway, that dumb (and I do mean, these are not the most gifted creatures, cute, yes, but dumb) kept backing up and going forward trying to get through my front door. It wasn't ever going to happen. Turtle wasn't going anywhere till we picked the little old guy up and took him to a wooded area so he could finally move forward.
That's what I mean. All this bickering is just a bunch of turtles butting their heads against a wall and it is never going to move. The right-wingers aren't ever going to see the left-wingers point of view and visa versa. And even though most of them know that, they keep arguing. I think it is for the sake of argument.
Well, I'm not buying it and I don't think most of America is either.
During the hurricanes here in Florida a few years ago, everybody on my block was without power for days. It was stifling hot, yet neighbors came out and talked, really talked with each other. We shared water, ice and candles. If someone got their power back, you could see long extension cords connecting someone else's house to theirs who was without power and needed a light or a fan. It was truly an incredible time in many ways. In that time I found out that I had good neighbors. It didn't matter if they were Republicans or Democrats or if I agreed with their lifestyles, they were just people and they were helping me and I was helping them.
Come to think of it, isn't that what America is supposed to be? Hmmmmmmm, maybe some of the angry people out there just need a good hurricane to find out who their neighbors are. Later.
