Looks like al-Maliki is pulling back with his tail between his legs. Promising to crush the militias has resulted in 400 lives and zero progress. Rockets continued to fall on the on the Green Zone today along with machine gun fire in the southern city of Basra. It had to be another of those “gut” feelings of Bush to move forward with this incredible miscalculation. It was going to be the frosting on the cake, violence is down and now the Iraq Army will prove it can be effective. And hey did the U.S. know about this John McCain…do chickens have lips?



Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain, also said he was "surprised" that al-Maliki had ordered an attack in Basra rather than going after al-Qaida in the northern city of Mosul. Well John Iraq is a little more complicated then maybe you think. You may be surprised that al-Qaida and the Sunni’s are receiving a lot of money from our good friends Saudi Arabia? In fact about half of these foreign fighters are from there?




In Washington, our CIA Director Michael Hatden said if there were another terrorist attack against America it would originate from the Afghan –Pakistani area? “It’s very clear to us that al-Qaeda has been able for the last 18 months or so to establish a safe haven along the Afghan-Pakistani border area that they haven’t enjoyed before, and that they’re bringing in operatives into the region for training”, he said.
