Blissful Weekend ...

Its nearing the end of the time that Navy D and I have prior to his departure to KY. We had a really nice weekend.

Friday night, I headed over to his place which is literally in the boonies around here. It's about 45 minutes away without traffic, but it typically takes about an hour to get to him. In any event, I had to pick up some food on my way over to his house cause I hadn't eaten. So I took a detour. This further made the case for me to literally walk into best buy and purchase a gps system. Because I got lost and then I got pissed. So I finally 30 minutes later of driving around aimlessly when gas is $3.78 per gallon, got on the road that I wanted to be on. I showed up to his house and he was super happy to see me. This helped diffuse my mood. We talked a lot, watched a really bad movie, and I headed home late. I don't stay at his house because his roommate is a bit of an anal retentative dude. He has a humidfier for his hard wood floors. So Spike is not allowed there.

Saturday was a fantastic day. It was freaking gorgeous here. I was very ambitious in the things that I wanted to get done. I got up late because I didn't get home till super late. Then I headed out for a hike with Spike. Man was it MUDDY. Spike had fun though so that's all that matters. We came home, Spike got a bath and I started on a cleaning spree. I finished the house to be about 75% the way that I wanted it to be. I went to get a pedicure and then stopped at the grocery store to pick up some ingredients for a yummy chipotle macaroni & cheese recipe that I found on cooking light.com. I went home and started cooking and finished getting ready. Navy D showed up around 6. We ate dinner and had a glass of wine and headed out to starbucks to get some caffeine. We then went to our 80's cover band show. It was good times. We left around midnight because I was super tired and kind of over the 80's because it was like so 20 years ago. HAHA. Just kidding.

Sunday morning we slept in. Headed down to Eastern Market with Spike in tow. He was the usual celebrity that he is and drew a lot of attention. It was raining and Navy D and I were hungry so we needed to find a place that we could sit outside without getting rained on. We were successful and grabbed some brunch. Then we headed to peek at houses. Of course we found both of our dream houses in Alexandria. They even lowered the price of the house but it's still too rich for my blood and his because he doesn't yet have a job (post navy job). We came home, he took a nap on me. I caught up on my tv for the week on my DVR and we ordered some chinese food. He had to head home for the night, and Spike and I decided we should do some job searches for him. Get him to stay here.. DARE to dream.

I did however come to the conclusion that if he does come back in the fall, although it would be economically beneficial to the two of us, I don't know that moving in together right now is the answer. He's not officially divorced. So I'd like that to happen and have him live on his own without a roommate for a year. We are seeing each other on Tuesday. Then again for the whole weekend. He's off to KY and I am off to my favorite place in the whole universe (sarcasm) Florida.

Happy Monday peeps.
