It's hard to know how kids will react to certain things. There are times when we accidentally hurt our children's feelings, but when the good out weighs the bad, they have the ability to cope and get over the lil' hurts quickly.

OMG, I would almost break out into hives with anticipation of Mark's arrival when we first got together. Luckily, I still get butterflies when I look out the back window to see him pull up in the driveway after work. And most of the time, I wait on the stairs for him to open the back door so I can get a kiss.

My kids used to call my husband "Markie" (his name is Mark) The relationships can really become special, especially when a new person comes in while the children are still young. Another person to love and be loved by is a gift.
