I remember back in 1956 when "under God"n was added to our flag salute. It was the same time that "In God We Trust" was passed by the Legislature as the official motto of the U.S. It was all part of the paranoia of the McCarthy era. We have a lot of that same paranoia prevalent today, as Obama has been accused of being everything from a Communist to a Nazi. It is the far right rearing its ugly head yet again. The nut cases will be all over him again for criticizing this resolution. Actually, the resolution is nothing, as Jeri, stated but a political ploy by the Tea Party and Boehner to try once more to make the Democrats look back if they oppose it.
Today was 86. By Thursday, we will in the 50's and having rain. Yes, the weather on the western slope comes right on down into the plains.
Anxious to see this movie. The author and the screenwriter actually grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, so their expertise should be "spot on."
I have always wanted to go river rafting; but I would prefer to have someone in the front who didn't fall out of the raft!! Too bad about the accommodations. That's what happens when people start cutting corners.

I am sometimes lonely also. My problem is that I am too choosy, I guess. I have had men express an interest in getting to know me better, but no one I really wanted to get to know. Wish you were closer. I think we could be good friends and at least enjoy one another's company from time to time.
I hope things work out for your friend in Baltimore. It will be much different from the Midwest. I personally have never cared for the people on the East or West coast. I think they have superiority issues with the rest of us paeans, especially those from New York City to D.C.
