Well, this is the post that I had done in Blogster. It finally opened up for me so that I could copy/paste it here.
Well, as you all know Sebastian Lee Ambrose has finally made it into the world. It was a bit harder than I had wanted but I am so happy that he is here now. As I had posted before, I had been going in for NST or non stress test to check on his heartrate when he moves. Well, on Monday, March 17th there was a change. After the normal acceleration, the was a moment of deceleration. The doctor came in and told us (Gary and I) that when they get the deceleration then it means that the placenta is getting old so they sent me over to the maternity triage.
Once there, the doctor working there had already spoken to the doctor in the clinic where I had been getting tested. He came in and started talking about doing a c-section. I did not want another c-section. I had one with my oldest and I had a hard time recovering. The doctor was willing to just induce but he said that if at any time there appeared to be any trouble then I would be taken in for a c- section anyways. I told him that I wanted to talk to my mom first who was on her way up there. Once she got there, she said that I needed to do what would be best for Sebastian. So, finally I decided to go ahead with the c-section.
This ended up being a very good decision. After they got me prepped and the spinal anesthetic going, they brought Gary into the room with me. They started the c-section and soon Sebastian was in the world. The only thing was the doctor stated that we would have ended up with a c-section anyways. The cord was actually around his neck twice and also wrapped around his left arm.
After he was out, Gary got to go into the other room with Sebastian as they cleaned him up, weighed, and measured him. He then brought him back into the room so that I could see him more up close. He is a beautiful little baby boy. He has a head full of dark hair and for now dark blue eyes. He weighed 8 lbs 1/2 oz. and was 21 inches long. He was officially born at 7:12 pm on St. Patrick's Day. The joke that we have going around is that he is a little Polish Leprechaun. Neither Gary or I have any Irish in us but we both are Polish.
If there are any more questions that you might have just go ahead and ask away. I do not have anything to hide.
Take care all and have a great day.
