"My bags are packed, I'm ready to go...I'm leavin' on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back agin..."
Remember that song written by John Denver? Peter, Paul, and Mary made it a big hit; but I first heard John sing it at his grandmother's house in Corn, Oklahoma, before people really even knew who John Denver was.
He was my husband's first cousin and the two of them spent many a summer together as kids 'jumpin' on Grandma's feather bed.'
If the weather cooperates, I too will be leavin' on a jet plane at noon tomorrow.
So this will probably be my last chance to wish all of you a Merry, Merry Christmas.
You have enriched my life and taught me so much these past three years. I look forward to learning even more from you in the coming year.
May the good Lord bless and keep you; remember Jesus is the reason for the season, pray for our leaders and our soldiers, pray for peace.
I love you all...
Joan
