Big Game! What Big Game!?!

So, all I can find on TV is analysis of the Super Bowl until, like jd, I am just sick of it.

I suppose this might be a BIG GAME to some--but not to me! The REALLY BIG GAME, so far as I am concerned, is tomorrow night when the Sooner women take on those pesky Tennessee Lady Volunteers.

Coach Sherri Coale with her three-time All-American, Courtney Paris, suffers through a tense moment.

The Sooners, currently ranked #2 nationally, with a 17-2 (6-0 in the Big 12) record, will be looking to a big win in this interconference battle with the defending national champ Tennessee Lady Vols at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on ESPN2 in a nationally-televised tilt.

The Lady Vols, not quite as strong as last year, come into the game with a 17-4 record, standing 5-2 in the Southeastern conference. The Lady Vols are 13th in the AP poll and slightly lower at 15 in the ESPN stats.

Pat Summitt, Tennessee's coach, will be going for her 1000th victory Monday night.

Oklahoma would appear to have a slight edge, but you can throw records out the window when these two powerhouses of women's college basketball take to the hardwoods.

The Lady Vols will be looking to hand Summitt her 1000th victory, the most ever for an NCAA college basketball coach--man or woman!

The Sooners, on the other hand, will be playing with the incentive to beat the Lady Vols, something they have yet to do.

The importance of this game will be marked by the presence of Bobby Knight and Brent Musberger, who will call the game for ESPN2 along with Nancy Lieberman.

In addition, the game has been moved 15 miles up the road to Oklahoma City's Ford Center from the Sooners' home court at Lloyd Noble Arena to accommodate the overflow Sooner crowd that will pack the arena and raise the roof for this one.

Should be a great night for sports!! Don't miss it if you love great competition between great teams.
