Empathy – Sympathy. So what which word was used by Ginsgerg? The main point is that neither word should have been used; neither word belongs in rulings on law and/or constitutionality! Just like: “In my heart I feel that” – who cares what you or I feel? Why should they? THINK – use your brain – for a change! American judicial case law is the written and recorded history of past adjudications, actions taken, right or wrong – words mean things. “Feelings” should mean absolutely nothing to the court. “The Law” is the law. But, whose “feelings” are to have priority in which circumstances? Mine, yours, Sonya Soltamayor’s, or Clarence Thomas’s???? Oh my oh my – the city – New haven Connecticut – meant well didn’t they?? They had such good intentions, and shouldn’t that count for something? NO – NOT – NEVER!!!! Discrimination against even one person – regardless of which skin color – is still discrimination, and is an affront to the rights of each and every one of us.
