My Abilene

This post is in regards to one of todays newspaper advertisements for the Democrat Party, this from the glum, sour, and dour Mr. Garrison Keillor - if he ever smiled his face would break apart. He was visiting Abilene TX (I bet they were thrilled???) and the entire time there, he was wondering to himself: "Why did you people vote to re-elect that dope?" And of course being the modern version of girly-man liberal, he did not have the gonads to actually verbally pose this question to any of the people he came into contact with; typical gutless liberal wimp! Back in August,I spent 2 weeks traveling the East Coast area of Massachusetts, Nantucket, and Cape Cod. And with most of the hundreds of residents that I came into contact with, I expressed my amazement that they really not totally stupid as I had been led to believe. So when asked why we in fly-over country think of them this way, I referred to their repeatedly re-electing the likes of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Barney Frank, each of whom I consider more suitable for government office in Russia or WWII Germany. Not one person could refute truth, logic, facts, and accurate data, but none would commit to ever changing their vote. With their mis-guided and brainless allegiance to the democrat party, how did Mitt Romney ever get elected as governor?

Thanks for explaining to me about Garrison Keillor. All I knew was that he was pretty funny on the radio in talking about a small town in Minnesota. I had to land in Abilene one time when our plane got into a holding pattern and almost ran out of gas - also was careful not to insult anyone there. Not sure about brainless support of the Democratic party, but we are an inclusive bunch so would not turn them down

For what it is worth, I supported Romney. For what it is worth, I voted for McCain in the general election.

It is unbelievable isn't it? In a lot of cases I could write Democratic choices off as starry-eyed looniness but when you get down to the likes of Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi etc. there are only two possibilities: insanity or stupidity!

The question isn't how Mitt got elected Governor, but why he didn't get nominated for President...he is a true progressive...
