Today started off very rainy. Heard all the heavy rain on my roof before I got up, My dogs don't like going out in the rain and Lucy wouldn't go. My baby Annie did go on out - to my amazement and then when I invited them out into the front yard (it doesn't rain here as much in the front. Ha!!) both went again.

Then about 20 minutes later, my foot slipped just as I went from my bedroom out to the sun room and I fell on my left foot and heard a crack, as my ankle broke. Good thing my sister's nurse was here. She pulled my foot out and I slid down the wall.

She called son, John and he and I spent the morning in the emergency room. The x-rays showed that I did break the ankle, but it had slipped back in place. So they put on a cast and I will see the surgeon tomorrow, to see if it will heal alone or need screws. I hope they will wait and see if it will heal. That way, I can avoid surgery. Will be in a cast about 8 to 10 weeks. But as soon as the pain and swelling is gone, I can use crutches to get around. Lucky it was my left ankle - not my driving foot. Brother JOhn said it WAS my driving foot. But he's not my boss. Ha!! The pain is pretty bad, but this old gal can stand it.
