I am so ready for spring to arrive! I know I shouldn't be whining because I live on the west coast and we don't usually have winter, but this year we did and I am so over it. I feel for those of you who are looking at another few months of chill and slush and snow. I am ready for the first bulbs poking through the damp dark earth, the first rhododendrons with their tight buds reaching for the sun and of course, the harlots of the garden... the roses. The blowsy lush girls that sprawl across the bushes like window dressing in an Amsterdam whore house.
If the foot of the trees were not tied to earth, they would be pursuing me. For I have blossomed so much, I am the envy of the gardens.
