I was thinking of it this morning, but the word was 'procrastination' because I have been putting off a little painting job.

See that lower board under the pump house? The one right over the water pipe? It was underwater a lot this past summer because the river was so high and I wanted to get it painted while the river is low.



I've been putting it off, thinking through all the steps in my head. Once I found some paint in the garage, the biggest concern was footwear. The river is only about a foot deep and there are a few rocks to stand on, too shallow for over-the-knee wading boots, but too high for low-cut waterproof shoes. The water is cold this time of year so I didn't want to wear sandals.

It has been lovely and warm here, no rain, perfect painting weather, but I was doing other things (knitting) and putting it off. We are due for a change in the weather tomorrow, so today was the day.

Amazing! It took about 20 minutes all together, including changing into painting clothes. Now I can lose sleep over something else.
