Blowing a Gale

The weather we get here is very mild compared to other parts of the world, but even so we are having a very bad (to us) time of it at the moment , gale force winds stated last night with hail and heavy rain, and it is set to continue till Monday , weather warning given out to farmers , flood alerts in areas also being handed out by the weather men. News tonight told to expect snow on our Mt Lofty ranges over the next day or so , if that's correct I might get to see snow for the first time , it has snowed before in winter but as soon as it hit the ground melts normally so this is very unusual .
The tv news tonight had pictures of downed trees falling on cars and houses , one large gum tree wiping out six cars at a shopping centre, cars stranded in water will wait and see what happens to jetties along the coast , then there's those I have no sympathy for building new homes after flattening sand dunes that protected the environment, even going to court to have there way.
Have been shitty on them for years , they have asked for the government to replace sand that has eroded the beach and is perilously close to the houses , they were warned when they applied to build even had applications knocked back but appealed and built .
All I can say is hope their insurance is paid up.

Our big winds mostly come from the west. Since you are below the equator, do yours mostly come from the east, or another direction?

It seems as though people all over the world do this.

They all want a sea view, the closer the better

I love that name Mt. Lofty. Reminds of one called Mt. Massive. The names seem redundant in a way.

Too bad regulations didn't stop these people from impacting the environment negatively. Now they are having to live with the consequences. Works for me. Hope you "weather the storm". Be well.
