Big snow in England and France, shut down the traffic in the Chunnel. There were four trains (all high-speed) trapped in the Chunnel last night. The difference in air temperature set off something that shut down the trains. The NW French countryside is littered with abandoned vehicles. And they only got a couple inches!

Here we got our first sticking snow. It looks like about an inch and it is melting. But there is supposed to be more today.

In the mountains of WVA and Virginia it is heavy, and there was a blizzard warning for Long Island.

Usually by now we have had a couple sticking snows, but this has been a warmer Fall and Winter. By warm, I mean not single-digit. I still think it is cold.

I plan to remain here all day and paint and clean. No travel for me among the crazy shoppers and their rushing madness. There will be plenty to do here without going out among the zoo animals on wheels.
