Although I am not moralizing here, I will make some predictions for 2010, which by the way is NOT the beginning of a new decade. We count like this: one, two three,... not zero, one, two, three. The first decade of the 21st Century began with January 1, 2001. The first day of the next decade is on January 1, 2011.
OK, with that out of the way, I note that the paparazzi are abandoning Hollywood by the busloads and heading for the fertile land of Florida, where they will spend most of 2010 taking snaps of Mr. Eldrick Woods. Tiger is fair game, and so long as they can keep selling photos of him to the tabloids, they will haunt his sorry butt.
Tiger will play golf again, and I predict it will be during 2010. All of his sponsors will have abandoned him, and if the whispers about performance-enhancing drugs keep going around, Tiger will fall from whatever grace he still commands.
Tiger's marriage will not survive. Elin has already removed the wedding band.
The overhaul of our medical insurance industry will be passed, but it will be severely watered down. The insurance company lobby owns Sen. Lieberman and he is the 60th vote for the Democrats. There will be a great battle about this come January.
It will be discovered that Osama bin Laden was blown to smithereens way back in 2001 or 2002 when we bombed the hell out of the caves of Tora Bora.
The UK will force the Labor Party out of control and the Tories will regain the government.
Oil will fall below 60 a barrel and then recoup to around 70bbl.
The Phillies will again win the National League pennant and lose the World Series.
The Yankees won't beat them because they won't reach the World Series.
GM will survive, but as a much smaller auto manufacturer, and it will be hard-pressed to repay the huge loans we made to it.
The Arctic Ocean will be 75 percent ice-free by August 20th.
Spain or Germany will win the World Cup.
Conan O'Brien will get canned from The Tonight Show.
A major US airline will shut down.
The NFL's number one draft choice will be a running back.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will NOT win the NBA title in June.
Neither will the Lakers!!!
Another major city daily newspaper will close.
Yahoo will get bought out by another major Internet entity.
.....
Correct me not. These are my predictions, not my desires.
