The Owens Valley is a beautiful wedge between the Sierras and the White Mountains. It is practically desert now but was once lush and green. The water barons of Los Angeles drained it dry. This scene is along Route 395 near Bishop, CA, on the way to Mammoth Mountain, the best ski place this side of Zurs, Austria. You could flip this painting over and the pond-reflected scene would nearly match.

Now the rant:
ABC News just did a piece about the new mom, the octuplets, and the truth.

1. The mom is divorced. She is unemployed and "wanted another baby."
2. The mother lives with her own mom, the babies' grandma.
3. The woman already has 6 kids.
4. The Grandma says when the mom brings the 8 new babies home, Grandma will be gone.

Guess who pays for this crap? Taxpayers pay. This woman is and will be on welfare forever.

I keep hearing people say, "Everyone has a right to have children."

Such bullshat!

Everyone DOESN'T have a RIGHT to have children.

You have a RIGHT to have children if you can afford to have children.. if you have the twenty thousand dollars for the doctors, the hospital and the medication, and in this case it will cost many thousands more because those preemies will be in the hospital for probably months. After that the children - all 14 - will have to be housed, fed and clothed, educated, medicated and very probably counseled!

That woman should be sterilized so she doesn't hand the people of California another bill in nine months!

And for the Diocese of Los Angeles, who think it is a "Blessing."... Why don't YOU pay for it?
