Now we see it. The health insurance companies, seeing the failure of the Administration's attempts to reform the health insurance dilemma, are raising their rates to record highs.
It is the promised land for them, and they know it. Now they are free to rip us all off as they see fit.
The people who cried that "government control of the health industry was socialism" are getting their due, too. The rate increases are across the board and they won't be spared.
When I split with my ex in 2002, we separated our health insurance policies. Asw a couple it was already astronomical. We paid over $650 a month for insurance that had a $2500 deductible and only paid 80 percent of the costs anyway. I always thought it was a rip-off.
After the split I dropped mine and paid nothing until I signed on to Social Security three years later. It was taking a chance but I saved about 14 thousand dollars by doing it.
Social Security is not enough now, so I signed into the VA system, too.
Just wait. Without reform there will be many people who can't afford to pay for their suddenly skyrocketing insurance rates.
