Pass the Salt Ban?

In one of the odder developments to come out of Albany in recent weeks, which is saying something, a Brooklyn assemblyman, Felix Ortiz, has proposed a bill that would make it illegal for restaurants to use salt in the preparation of food. Period.
Plain as day, or perhaps unsalted french fries, Assembly Bill A10129, introduced last Friday, says, “No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off the premises.â€
The measure proposes fines of $1,000 for each violation.
Mr. Ortiz, a Democrat who represents several neighborhoods where salt is known to be heavily used, including Red Hook and Sunset Park, told The Times Union of Albany that he was inspired to introduce the bill by the case of his father, who used salt excessively for years and developed high blood pressure and had a heart attack.
...
I could kill when I see proposed laws like this. WHO THE F**K CARES if someone eats too much salt (or any other substance) and ends up having a stroke from it? I don't giver a good God damn for people, particularly the food cops, dictating what I eat or what goes into it (unless it is about eating dogs or cats!)
No wonder New York has the reputation of being to "in-your-face" to its poor citizens. What's next? No fish in tuna cans? No cheese on your chili?
Screw the food police, people! REVOLT!
Carry a salt shaker when you go out to eat!
RESIST the fools.
Here, use mine:

Everybody knows that this law will be challenged and struck down because it is unconstitutional. What a waste of time and taxpayers' money!
If you are sick of the NY legislators and their folly, move to Ohio. We have the best salt mines in the USA and there's plenty here for you.
