Welcome back. That is to say, we get concerned when certain people ghost.
Sounds a lot like that movie about the car and the Korean (I think) neighborhood with the other famous old guy. I keep seeing a commercial and something about it makes me consider watching the movie. All I have to do now is remember where to find it.
I think Laura is the only one who knows how to contact her. And she's not around either.
That sucks, but at least you have a landlord to handle it. I have never had a frozen pipe--until last year--right after they insulated the foundation sills in the basement. The pipe is on the warm side, but the insulation blocks just enough heat that the cold can reach the pipe. But it has to go to -15 for a few days before anything happens, and we only hit 0 for one night. Good luck!
32 is freezing. Sub-freezing needs to be below 32.
Sub-freezing temps as low as 32? Nothing I can say about that....
Too bad most people don't do what you did. They get nervous, and whatever, and in turn, they get stupid. I had an incident on the phone when a nurse from my health insurance called as they do several times a year. She wanted me to identify myself and I wanted her to prove that she actually had my information. We each gave enough to satisfy the other and it worked out. She was legit. II have a question that you might be able to answer: Two calls from insurance companies both said that they were calling with a quote that I requested. I'm very satisfied with my insurer and haven't clicked on anything related to insurance. The lady from the second call when I asked said I much have given my info to one of those sites that spreads the info. We talked a bit and it turned out that the guy with my name, spelled the same way was born in 1990 and had Progressive (or something). She mentioned the road he lives on and that was also incorrect. So the obvious question, how did my phone number get transposed to this guys info when I hadn't filled anything out on whatever site it was? Thanks,
It's wonderful that you can stay so positive and grateful. My losses this year weren't as significant as yours, but it was/is tuff nonetheless. But I stay present, and grateful. I can easily imagine how easy it could be for things to be worse in every aspect of my life! Happy Thanksgiving!
Fortunately I'm not concerned with service so I'll settle for take-out, which I just did. Thai basil chicken. Not quite as satisfying as General Thoa's chicken, but delicious and filling nonetheless.
The damn thing is coming here on Friday night. But it hasn't rained in days so we can handle a few inches.
I have a 4PM dentist appointment next week and Donna insists that there be something in the deal for her at dinner time (she's the driver). I don't think we have and Outback, but I know we have an Arby's. Do you think we can have an affordable dinner there without a coupon or discount?
I can't stand leftovers. Takes me about an hour every day to prep dinner. Sometimes we are each having something different. Donna is more healthy food conscious than I am. She says she doesn't mind leftovers, but I'd just as well prepare it fresh every day.
Seems like it would be difficult to make white clam sauce memorable. Didn't they have their own special "claim to fame"?
Thing, the hand on The Adam's Family "lived" in a box which it didn't leave. The top opened and Thing would make motions. The other hand that you seem to be thinking of is probably what you actually remember.
