Saturday,june 11,2011/sunflowers,iced Hot Chocolat

We have cool,rain,cloudy,a dismal day.
But not complaining.
We need the rain.
The garden and the lawn.
It is a very lazy afternoon and nice to just lull around relaxing etc.
Also,a good afternoon for some enjoyment.
You have to read between the lines.LOL.
So Weiner is checking his hot dog to the clinic.
Maybe they will put some seasoning on it to cool it.LOL.
Oh!all right.I will behave.
Nancy want him out.Guess she was not too fond of Weiner.
Okay,away from this mess.
A while back,my first experiment is to plant sunflower seed in my clay pot and see if anything will happen.
Never done this before and just wanted to see where we go with this.
Most of the credit is due to Mike as he took care of it most of the time and fed it.
To my surprised they came out terrific.
Yes,I was very surprised and we also have many buds on this.
The rest of the seeds are planted in the garden and some.
Sunflowers are on of my best that I enjoyed in this Summer months.
We missed the field of sunflowers in Tuscanny as it was a little bit early.
I bought a painting from jonjude a while back for my daughter and she loves it.
The garden is doing okay.
Strawberry season is among us.
Believe me,we have the best that grown in this state of NH.
Bragging,of course and why not.
Strawberry short cake etc.
Hey the other day as my tennis partner stopped off after the game to Dunkin Donut.
We do this a couple days a week.
He just back from his winter homestead in Florida.
Getting caught up on news etc.
Yes,he brought home a woman for now,his so called girlfriend.
She is not sure if she likes it here or not.
Her problem and she stuck here.LOL
His wife died a year ago.
But he need to have his woman.
Married four times.Whew!he must be a stud.LOL>
As for me to see him, well that remain to be seen.LOL.
Okay, enough of him and back to Dunkin Donut.
I always get hot chocolate and not matter what the season is.
So,he asked me what do I want?
Let me try the frozen hot chocolate.
He had coffee and a bagel.
Frozen chocolate taste like crap.
Was awful for me anyway.
I cannot explained it why,but it was crap.
Did not want to hurt the mans feeling, and just sipped along while he enjoy his coffee and bagel.
Then he said, have to run along got errand to do.
Fine,I'll take this with me right.
When he left, dumped in the basket.Whew
The motto here,leave it.
Stick with Iced coffee or whatever your heart desired.
Below is a couple of pictures, that I am proud of.
Please enjoy the wonderful world of Sunflowers.
Good afternoon.
Eggplant parmagania with spaghetti, wine, salad the menu for tonight.Mike does this ala dente.
Stay dry.Love you all from the boys at the school house.

And life IS good!!!! What a great day you had. Now for my sunflower story: Every year since I've lived here (34), I've had sunflowers in the garden. I leave at least 3 to grow wild, somewhere out of the way of the veggies. But this spring, I pulled every last seedling up. It was becoming a problem keeping the sprouts in check. So this is my first year without sunflowers beaming pleasantly at me when I frequent the garden. I'm sad.

It is not too late to plant some.Try it.Just throw the seeds in and see what happens.

Those sunnies go to be a good size. I planted seed indoors once, but they all died on transplant. Very nice!

This is one of the reason that I decided to leave in the pot.Just loved it.
It took off slowly and then wow!not sure how tall that this will be and hoped that it reached it limit.
