Confirming what Boston baseball fans have long known in their hearts, users of the travel Web site TripAdvisor have named Fenway Park the best ballpark in the United States.

The home of the Boston Red Sox tops a list that ranks parks on fan-friendly criteria including history, locale, food quality and field views for TripAdvisor travelers’ 10 favorite ballparks around the country. According to the list, Fenway earned its top ranking because of its “unmatched history, character, charm and atmosphere.”

Ivy-walled Wrigley Park, home of the Chicago Cubs, is ranked second, followed at No. 3 by Yankee Stadium, home of the Red Sox’ historic rivals. The list is rounded out by the Seattle Mariners’ Safeco Field, praised for its superior “combination of variety and quality of food in baseball.”
