Evening all,
I have been having a nice quiet lazy, type of day today. It has been a very pleasant feeling. So I am going to wallow in some waffling.
The clocks go back an hour at 2a.m. YaY – an extra hour in bed in the morning! Unfortunately, it will mean an increase in the electricity usage, but, ‘swings and roundabouts’, we will retrieve it during the summer months, when they revert back to ‘summertime’ hours. (I don’t know why they bother to change them around at all – I suppose it is to be beneficial to the farming community - milking the cows etc.).
In half an hour ‘Pillars of the earth’ starts – an excellent mini-series that Laura (Troutbend) mentioned and recommended – she was not wrong! It is episode three tonight (not sure how many there are – loads I hope!
‘The Anarchy’ is an actual fact of English history. To my mind a very underrated part of our history too. It began a small (compared to the 17th century civil war). As with all civil war sides had to taken. Had I been around then, I would have sided with Matilda (Maud), but a lot, of the people were with Steven as Matilda wasn’t a ‘people’ person if you know what I mean, ha ha. However, eventually the ‘fates’ had their way, because Matilda’s heirs did, inherit the throne.
Okey dokey, I have got ten minutes to wash the dishes before ‘pillars’ come on . . .
Catcha later,
