One in 25 Homeless. Recession Now. More ...

links to stories provided, as always

Hey all, here I go again, one of my rants is coming on. So hold on! I'll start with New Orleans. In New Orleans, the homeless population has swelled to 1 in 25 people. Maybe if that privatized "Road Home" program would write a single check to one of the qualified 56,000 people who are eligible for assistance that figure wouldn't be so high. That is beyond unacceptable. Remember too that according to McCain's recent endorsement John Hagee, New Orleans "got what it deserved". Of course, its the Democrats that have the problem with big mouth religious extremists...Yea, right....

Hey speaking of Religious nuts gone wild, is anyone asking about McCain's preacher these days? Oh yes, David Corn did. How about these quotes to make Hagee blush (almost)....
Parsley claims that Islam is an "anti-Christ religion" predicated on "deception." The Muslim prophet Muhammad, he writes, "received revelations from demons and not from the true God." And he emphasizes this point: "Allah was a demon spirit." Parsley does not differentiate between violent Islamic extremists and other followers of the religion:

There are some, of course, who will say that the violence I cite is the exception and not the rule. I beg to differ. I will counter, respectfully, that what some call "extremists" are instead mainstream believers who are drawing from the well at the very heart of Islam.

Ouch...Maybe people like McCain shouldn't hang out with (or call their "spiritual adviser" those who advocate the destruction of other religions. Kinda makes us at risk if they win. Might make those who follow Islam think that we may really be in a "religious war". And we DON'T want that.

As the dollar falls, everything else rises. Oil up to a high of 111.80 today and gold hit a high of 1030.80 today. Wow. Some economists are claiming the
recession is already here. I know, who would have thought?!

Obama got more delegates this weekend, and is still ahead. Here are your current totals. OK Hillary, JUST DROP OUT already. The Democrats will get enough attacks from the right without your help.

I am not at all surprised by the number of homeless people in New Orleans. After the hurricane, no one (corporations)has built any (or any where near enough) new homes, but too many of the people with no money, jobs, or usable skills have returned to the city. Yes, some day there may be more subsidized public housing, but this takes decades from needs assessment to completion, but most of all it requires a working population to generate taxes payable.
