Sorry to always play the sour note... but it's pretty obvious that humans are destroying nature -- a thousand extinctions a week is pretty damned impressive. OK, in the end we'll become extinct too because of our stupidity, but that will scarcely be a Victory for nature, being reduced to a scraggly burning desert after the extraordinary abundance.
