A sensible man. The trouble with our political systems is that sensible people want nothing to do with them. Power corrupts and the corruption is endemic... in Australia too. We are no better. What every non USA citizen I know doesn't understand is why you guys get so upset about the Twin towers. Your armies and weapons have totally destroyed every city in Iraq, and Afghanistan... not just a couple of buuldings that were ready for demolition anyway... but every important building, every bit of infrastructure from water to transport, to health and education... destroyed and millions murdered because of the invasions... and this doesn't include the millions dead and the destruction wrought by the USa in so many other cointries. Don't you ever feel just a little bit embarrassed at wailing about the twin towers when you know what real suffering has been and is enured by all those victims of US aggression? the kids in Laos that every day are having their arms and legs blown off by unexploded munitions dumped by the USA thirty years after the Vietnam War ended? Sorry to mention this, and I am not USA-bashing, as I admire so many Americans... but isn't it time to accept you deserve a little of the horror you guys have been handing out to the rest of the world for so long?

You recently posted an article in which Jefferson, I think it was, reckoned that there had to be a revolution every 150 years or so because governments and political systems inevitably become corrupted.
Cetainly the system you have of a King/president to rule like a dictator with unelected advisors is undemocratic. A constitutional head of state is the only rational solution, with the country governed by representatives diresclty elected by their constituents alone as in the Westminster system. Political parties too shoud be outlawed, along with unlimited election spending... But you are going to need a revolution to get even the slightest reform because the power is too well entrenched. and things will have to get a great deal worse before there will be a popular uprising. So sad... after such a promising beginning that the USA should become a basket case run by an oligarchy.

What a shame you prevented huxley [Aldous or Julian?] from taking a snack.
how old is he his chest has an incredibly healthy sheen. Is he a tad overweight? or is that a prolapse between his legs? where did Doberman Pinschers [?] come in the list... I have been told several times that had I been born an animal I'd be a doberman. I tried to take it as a compliment, but...

Your mother sounds like me. She shops because she needs something, not to browse and waste time and money on inessentials. Excellent.Have fun with Ryan.

Familiarity breeds indifference... soon everyone will accept these guns as normal and then there'll be tanks on the streets and that will be normal and then the police state will seem normal and then...

Wise words... I wonder about "You must be willing to make sacrifices." i dislike the word sacrifice...1.To offer as a sacrifice to a deity.
2.To forfeit (one thing) for another thing considered to be of greater value.
3.To sell or give away at a loss.
[Middle English, from Old French, from Latin sacrificium : sacer, sacred. See sacred + facere, to make.]
How about simply accepting we can' have everything? False desires lead to woe? whhatever... good stuff.

We'd ring and ask 'excuse me, are you on XXX road?' 'yes' 'well you'd better get off there's a bus coming.'
local phone calls were free in those days... we only paid a rental and for trunk calls. But I don't want to go back... I prefer being my age.

He's a wonderful guy, so straightforward, honest and endearing. not an arrogant bone in his body.
Being gay isn't such a problem to him because diving's an individual sport. it's team sports that are really bad. He's right about our crappy nre Prime Minister... he's a religious fuckwit.

Surely no one uses vaseline? It's far too sticky. Butter would be better.
