Surely you realise that male pattern baldness is a sign of larger than normal testosterone! You are more male and butch than those wimps that, like women, keep their hair on! Be proudly bald. keep it short and neat and get rid of the moustache if you like... but dont waste money on treatments that do not work except in cases where hair loss is not due to the normal causes.

It really is time to get rid of old men of McCain's generation... they are well past their use-by date.

I know the feeling... when there's nothing to do you long to be busy... when busy you long to have nothing to do... But take elfie's advice... sit down, take a deep breath and realise that the world will not collapse if you sdont finish everything yesterday...

And we all know the source of the death threats -- religion... when will the world learn that religion means intolerance, hatred and fear?

This is horrifying.... not the story, the whole world is well aware of the ignorance of so many citizens of the USA and the low standard of education in most states, what horrifies me is that of all the comments to this post only jondude was surprised, or concerned that the teaching of evolution is banned in schools and that so many teachwers are fundamentalist christians. Don't you guys realise you are heading back to the 'dark ages'? Why isn't there a revolution? Why are ignorant people with no scientific training or knowledge elected to school boards and then permitted to declare which text books are to be used for teaching science! In rational countries, the education department of each state government decides what will be taught and is advised by educated experts in the field. Truly, I am shocked to the core. Here, a member of parliament wanted to introduce the notion of Intelligent design, and was severely condemned by the media and every rational person. Apathy leads to dictatorship, and the USA is on the way to becoming a theocratic dictatorship.

I give in... are there any super heroes who have normal bodies - it is their intellects that are super? Form the way they're dressed Id say they were all closet gays.

I forgot to add that her philosophy of "Art" formed the basis of all my successful teaching of both practical art and the History of Art, for which I owe her a great debt. She was truy one of the grests and one day will be recognised as such -- if civilization survives,[]

I read both these novels in my late twenties, immediately joined the mailing list for the Ayn Rand Newsletter, Bought all her philosophical works, and began to spread the message - joining a political party that was founded on her philosophies.the "Alpha" party'.
And then Maggie Thatcher and Ronald Reagan jumped on the band wagon. Purporting to be followers of her ideals they stripped away everything except laissez-faire capitalism. The notion of 'enlightened self-interest' was totally beyond their intellect. Other politicians then took the title of one of her best books, "The Virtue of Selfishness" and perverted it to mean their narrow interpretation of selfishness. It was the beginning of my total disillusion with politics and public figures. Humans don't deserve this planet... they get the governments they deserve and deserve the ruin that is unfolding. Allan Greenspan was her lover... or at least acolyte, and that explains some of his better fiscal policies. She remains one of the least understood philosophers of last century... escaping from communist Russia to be disillusioned in the USA... Poor Ayn.

I also wanted to add that your comment about the execrise doing a better job of getting you going in the morning than coffee, is quite the best and most sensible thing i have read about fitness and weight loss for a long time. And you are correct... it is getting the blood flowing that makes us feel better. thanks for that.

Sounds very hi-tech and an excellent idea... all the feedback stimulates you to go on. Do you do it as well as your previous system? or does it replace it?

Comment on You Are What You Watch! ... or Maybe Not? - July 12, 2008 10:38 PM ()
In Australia and Europe we have known all this and more for years. We have good TV stations that broadcast documentaries from France, Germany, Britain, ... everywhere where people are dismayed at USA foreign policy - and terrified our governments are going to institute USA style fiscal policies at home. The power wielded by USA companies and their government can force smaller countries to obey their dictates - that's why they want globalisation. Here the USA threatens us if we try to institute sensible drug laws. If we want to protect the rights of poor people to have access to medicines... so many socially beneficial things are in danger because of USA interference.
both here and in Europe George bush is the most hated man on the planet and described as the greatest terrorist, and the USA as a terrorist state. It's not for nothing that the USA refused to sign UNO agreements about war crimes. they demanded and got exemptions for all USA soldiers from prosecution, no matter what they do. We find it criminal that Milosevitch and others are tried as war criminals, but successive presidents of the USA are not, despite korea, Vietnam, Most of central and south america, Indonesia, the middle east.... and I am now raving... sorry. excellent post.
