Another fine day in Mid-Michigan. Sunny, breezy, and comfortable. Not sure what the weekend will bring as the forecast is similar for the next three days. Few showers, probably cloudy, and temps in the upper sixties and low seventies. Will I be able to hang clothes on the line this weekend? I don't know, that's why I am doing the laundry today!

I must say that I am more than happy to have daily and even nightly temperatures lower than the averages for this time of year. It makes it so the air conditioner stays off and we are comfortable during the day. Sleeping at night is no problem either. I do realize that there are others in the nation that have not been so fortunate, and have had higher than average temps.

I was on to my next train of thought and realized that there are less than two months of summer left. Not summer according to the calendar, but summer before school starts. My girl goes back on September 8, the day after Labor Day. Still the majority of summer left yet, though.

Speaking of my girl, she is with us through the rest of the month. Her dad had made plans to come and get her for a week or two this month and then canceled out the night before. Actually, he didn't bother to call and confirm the day before and I honestly think he hadn't even planned to. I was the one that made the call. Our daughter was obviously disappointed. She was really looking forward to going to her dad's. I don't think he gets how much. But I can only be the mom and the one parent to her, no matter how much I encourage her dad to step up.

So daughter and I spend more time together and find stuff to do. Because of the lack of rain the river is way down and there is little luck fishing. We haven't tubed and rafted in a few weeks because it isn't as fun when you scrape the bottom rather often. I honestly hope it rains some this weekend. We do need it, and not just for the recreational activities.

So, it is another Thursday and I am posting again. No coincidence there, it's just when it happened...lol. One day to Friday, which means something to some and not to others, like us who are on summer vacation. Of course, I would be more than happy to be at a job right now (probably not blogging) and looking forward to a weekend off. In due time, I guess.
