But I couldn't take pics because it was after dark. :(
I got up when daughter's aunt got home last night and one of the dogs was barking. I looked outside the front slider door and there were two deer standing on the (then) frozen pond. One of them walked to the other end towards the woods and my furry male kitty Fluffy was outside.
Fluffy has never seen wildlife as he was strictly an indoor cat before living here. (We have a kitty door.) He ran up to the one deer and the deer started playing with him on the ice. Then Fluffy chased the deer into the woods.
When I looked back at the other end of the pond there were two deer, but they could see the movement indoors and decided to bound off the other way.
I was really excited because it had been a long time since I have seen deer up close. My parents would feed them outside their kitchen window up on the hill at their last home in West Virginia.
My daughter's aunt said the deer used to come here all the time, as well as the birds to the tree. Not to mention the turkeys that still come. (Check out one of my posts with the pictures.) Her estranged husband was faithful in providing food for them, but no more.
I'm just gonna have to get a night vision camera, I guess. ;)
