He was my first born and a happy surprise after waiting 7 long years.
Poor J ! Born an entire month early, skin and bones, no eyebrows or eyelashes, his little 6lb 11oz body mottled every color of the rainbow, he looked like a little bag of bones.
He looked like a baby bird that had fallen from its nest.
It wasn’t until 6-8 months later that we got any notice from passers-by when out whipping around in his stroller.
This blue eyed child grew and flourished quickly into a curly blonde tow head and people who knew him loved him for his gentle way and his tender smile.
Before long I knew how good hearted a soul he was.
At a young age he made a prophetic statement to me saying, “You’ve got to face your fears Mum!†And later on in his life he made a prediction that someday he and I would own a house together. I just smiled at both statements.
I have acknowledged and known the wisdom in his young truth and have witnessed his prophesy come to pass.
I don’t want to make this young man out to be sainted because there are no halos or wings about him.
But he definitely is a unique and wonderful son and friend to me.
And today, on his birthday, I am at a loss for words, cards or gifts because HE indeed IS the gift!
God bless you Son with continued good health and all the abundance in life that you so richly deserve.
Party on . . .

P.S. And if you do happen to win the lottery, remember who loves ya Babe!
