Marriage Counseling Goes Online?

You know that popular ad that you see on television with eHarmony? Well, they just came up with online mariage counseling. It costs $149.

This might seem like a good idea for some (and apparently cost less than going to an office), but wouldn't it be a bit more beneficial to actually be face-to-face with your counselor?

The article says that some might use this approach better because mostly, the woman is the one to take the step to marriage counseling as oppose to the guy. But seriously, if the someone is not willing to go to counseling, then how would it be any different to do it online?

Since eHarmony is doing it, I see that other online companies will try to attempt to do this in the future too. Personally, I would rather talk to an actual human being than browse for answers that you might not find online.

What do you think? You think this idea will flop or take off like a bat out of hell?

Hmm... I can't decide if I think it will flop or not. I imagine that there are a lot of lazy people out there who want a quick fix and will invest about as much energy into counselling as they will into their marriage. BUT, then again, it's an affordable solution, and since a lot of couples argue about finances, it might be a good alternative for them. Ah... what the heck do I know though anyway.

I don't think it will be successful at all. I also think it's not a good idea. It would be very difficult to go to counseling over the internet. It's better to go in person. Would people even think it's legit to go online for marriage counseling? I don't know...I just don't think it's a good idea.

It just might result in more divorces.
