Was watching the Obama train ride on TV and wanted to somehow also express how this whole change thing makes me feel - oh, I know, we must wait and see - as Obama, himself inferred hope is audacious. Anyway here is what came out:

Hope from 2009

King came and said
and died
Jesus too –
The poor, the blind,
the black –
those oppressed without the funds
to make it right –
or the good old boys to
cover their back.
This guy came now and told us too
to not yet give up hope.
We needed that so much, so much -
so hard in these times to cope.
So pray for him and pray for us and
pray for the days ahead.
So hard and yet,
with love we can
bring change from the ruins and the dread.
