When it Hits Home

We are hearing of all kinds of troubles in many places. I still find it hard to, as Rev. Hagee did, attribute it to God's vengeance. We see more and more every day and the closest here, with people losing their homes and more homeless on the street, is something that looks like a looming depression (that is when you lose your own home). For me it is when my son, who has a teen age son with bipolar (needing daily expensive medicine) loses his health insurance. Canceled! -kick them while they are down - in the holy name of profit! (they were not profitable anymore). My son is working 6 days a week as a mechanic; still (with 3 teenagers and a wife who cannot work) has more expense (even with our help) than he can handle, and may now lose his house because of the collapsing housing market and rising payment. If the country does not have a depression, it sure is depressing for him, and for me. What a country! I Hope there is Hope! Anyway the only good side is that after years as an agnostic, he has become a believer and prays regularly - which he says gives him strength - me too - "I look to the hills - from where comes my strength? - from the Lord". Well, sorry for spilling this out. Thanks for listening.

Joe, may your new-found faith and that of your son give you strength and grace to see this through to the other side. You'll look back and give thanks that you made it through.
