I have found a very helpful genealogy site which assists both the UK and the USA.
There is a seperate link for each country the link(s) are:
www.curiousfox.org (for the USA) and
www.curiousfox.com (for the UK).
On these sites, one can leave requests for any information other users may have come across in their own endeavours - it is amazing how much knowledge you keep stored unwittingly, when going upon ones own research!
An extra bonus, is the fact that you have a choice of membership - you can join as a free or paid member!! I have not yet joined as either because I just view any items that have a relevance to my own research at the moment.
It is an extremely interesting site (they also have 'old' maps of villages and towns)!!
