It isn't looking good. Since my husband is in trucking, we started seeing the real seriousness of the situation when oil prices started rising. We knew it wouldn't be long before commodities would follow. Now, oil is down, but business is so bad that commodity loads have dropped way off. Independent truckers and trucking companies are going under right and left. JR has been lucky lately in that he hasn't had to sit over 4 days waiting for a load. But, we know of some drivers who have had to sit over a week. One just can't live on two or three loads per month.
A lot of people are counting on Obama to produce some miracles. I certainly hope their dreams are realized. Personally, I don't think it is going to happen. I am looking for my biggest soup bowl for when I have to stand in a soup line.
" Anybody who was less of man would probably have been done in, but I prevailed." The last time I read your blog... you were in bed, dying and now... I read this sentence. Sorry, can't help but laugh. I am glad you are still alive and out and about. By-the-way, part of the joy of living in the country is one can go out to feed the animals in their robe and boots. I can often be seen running around in my pajamas. Couldn't get away with that in the city.
I've just been doing some thinking of my own on my blog. Gandhi isn't the only one who spends time meditating.
I tend to make really black coffee.... I'll send a cup your way. Add my voice to your rant.
I think Gandhi has it right.
I don't admire her politics, but I admire her talent. Hope those chickens don't become fried chicken the next time Malibu has a fire.
That is a beautiful house. It definitely needs some decorating... too plain for my tastes. Some flowers and shrubs in the yard would really help. Yes, I can picture it decorated for Christmas. Four acres... how many cows can I graze on that place???
I'm excited about the wedding. I can just imagine that you find it difficult to think of much else these days. We will be waiting for the wedding pictures. As a child, decorating our little country church for Christmas was a big celebration. It is one of my best childhood memories.
Blessings - Annie :o)
You've got my sympathy.
Hope he gets life. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
You definitely need a string ensemble. Love those violins.
I love the wedding cake picture. It is beautiful. That is sort of my style of cake, too. I think the wedding cake is the most exciting part of the ceremony. I didn't always think of cakes as so important... maybe it is my age. When JR and I got married, I had three cakes (small, medium, large) and all were a different flavor. They weren't stacked, but sat separately on different level tiers. They were frosted in a basket weave and all toped with beautiful flower bouquets. I need to find a picture and post it.
You are for sure a romantic my dear friend.
This was fun. I decided to try it. You did get a much higher score than I got.
Love those songs and that country western sound. Can't get enough of it. Annie ;o)
I hate it when I can't sleep. My heart goes out to you because you have a job and small children to care for. Me... I just take a nap in the daytime.
