Every night my two younger kids Sharon 10 and Shaunn 7 pray to God to give daddy a job. Daddy thinks:
Why does daddy need a job? Isn't seeing them take their breakfast, go up the school bus, come home after school plus looking after Spotz the silly childish dog do all his daily necessities, maintaining daddy's own aches and pain on his old machine, cleaning the backyard as big as a basketball court, cleaning the driveway as big as a helicopter landing pad, keeping the 55 year old bungallow from falling apart,hanging up the laundry, cooking his own meals from the scraps in the fridge enough of job?
Moreover what job can God send me to do in Canada? Work at Mcdonald, at the Bakery, CoffeeTime, Subway.....? And boy ever since I was a boy I wanted to be a writer.
Then out of the blue my publisher Pearson require me to renew a contract for the textbooks that I once co-authored. So I sent my signatures and called up to them to tell them that it would take some time to reach them from Canada to Singapore.
And lo! I was talking to this lady Ms PQ and she asked me if I would like to write books for Pearson Education. I became excited! Thanks to God who hears kid's prayers!
