Receipe and Quotes and Insights

All life is an experiment.
—Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
[1841-1935 U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice],
Dissent, Abrams v. U.S. (1919)

Do
not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an
experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a
little course, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do
fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you
shall never be so afraid of a tumble.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson
[1803-1882 U.S. orator, author, Unitarian minister],

Ana's Own Receipe Date -Rasin-Peacon-Oat No Bake Cookie Balls

Took
a recipe from a Gourmet Vegetarian cook book and experimented this
morning changed it so I didn't have to bake these cookies. I added and
eliminated items to suit my taste, and the fact I wanted to make a treat
for Breakfast that didn't require using the oven.

Life and baking/cooking for me are experiments, know the basics than add or subtract make it you own.

These ingredients are approximate, I don't measure either.

About a handful of dried dates, pit and I removed those ends and some of the loose skin of date. Chop to bite size pieces.

Same amount of raisins and chop.

Chop a handful of Pecans, add to fruit

In
a pot I heated on low, about a cup of peanut butter, just enough to get
it soft, to this maybe 2-3 tablespoons of non-fat canned evaporated
milk. Just enough to get a good base to add the fruit and nut. Turn of
heat, stir in fruit and nuts, add about 1/2 cup of Oat Meal. Mix till
all ingredients are coated and you can see you'll be able to make a ball
out of it.

I
used a teaspoon, and pick up the mixture and rolled it off spoon onto
wax paper on the counter. OPTION you could roll in carob powder or coco
powder too.

Let cool, and have with you favorite breakfast drink, I had jasmine/green tea this morning.

Eat outside and enjoy the BEAUTY all around you.

We’re all of us guinea pigs in the laboratory of God.

Humanity is just a work in progress.
—Tennessee Williams
[1911-1983 U.S. playwright, Pulitzer prize winner],
"Camino Real," 1953

Everybody’s a mad scientist, and life is their lab. We’re all trying to experiment to find a way to live, to solve problems,

to fend off madness and chaos.
—David Cronenberg

[1943- Canadian film maker], Cronenberg on Cronenberg , 1992

BUTTERFLY

A
man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He
sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to
force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making
any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it
could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The
man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any
moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the
body, which would contract in time.

Neither
happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling
around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to
fly.

What
the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the
restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get
through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body
of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight
once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes
struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to
go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us.

We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

I asked for Strength.........
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom.........
And God gave me Problems to solve.

I asked for Prosperity.........
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.

I asked for Courage.........
And God gave me Danger to overcome.

I asked for Love.........
And God gave me Troubled people to help.

I asked for Favors.........
And God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted ........
I received everything I needed!
