Re-define Change as Transformation

Re-define "Change" as "Transformation" and See Your
Successes Multiply

Everything is in a constant state of movement. Inanimate
objects aren't really inanimate. Even the walls around you
are moving. They are just vibrating at such a rapid speed
they appear to be solid.

Nothing stays the same. And fear of change is not going to
do you any good. It only holds you back from "possibility."

Think about that for a second...if you are concentrating on
your fear of change, and hoping everything stays as it is
(your job, your marriage, your children, your finances), how
can you be a joyful part of the transformation to a higher
state of existence?

You can't.

Change is like surfing. You can't just paddle into life,
stand still and expect to stay on top of your board. The
waves of change will knock you off and drag you under. You
have to shift on your surfboard, bend your knees and balance
yourself, depending on which way the waves take you. Some
people even think changes are fun!

Action Step:

In closing I'd like to offer an exercise to complete in the
week ahead:

Can you identify the changes going on in your life right
now? Are you stressing out about them as you read this? Do
you feel as if everything is out of your control?

Control is an illusion. You have no control over
anything...but yourself. You can control how you respond to
changes in your life. Once you realize this, life will
become much easier.

Here's an exercise to try with every change you have in your
life.

1. Take out a journal or notebook. Then write down the
change you have identified in your life. For example:

Change: "They are restructuring my company. There may be
layoffs."

2. Next, acknowledge the change:
"This is a change taking place right now. This is a
situation I have no control over."

3. Now, acknowledge what you do have control over:
"I have complete control over my reaction to this change. If
I stay with the company, I will continue to enjoy my job and
do the best I can do every day. If I am let go, I know this
is a transformation to a higher state in my life. I will be
creating a career vacuum that will be filled by an even
better position with more possibilities than I could ever
imagine."

4. Do this exercise for each change taking place in your
life today.

Everything happens for a reason. You may not see it now, but
it will be presented to you when the time is right.

God wants to talk to each of us; we merely need to start the
conversation in prayer or meditation and patiently listen.

Ana, I'm sorry that I haven't been checking in; our inner net was down for a time--only on for a while then would go off, but it has been fixed! I guess all of the bad weather had taken its toll on the tower. From now on, I will embrace change and not be so afraid--I don't want to be knocked from my surf board!
