Notes from the Stars: February 2009

From the 14th to the 17th, five planets will be in Aquarius, and it will certainly charge the air with excitement, vitality and a sense that something is about to happen. It is good to keep open, allowing anything to see possible. Ideas and inspirations can arrive at any moment, and from most unusual sources--so pay attention!

This is a time of seeing what might be, so explore the potential of whatever presents itself to you and then share your vision with others. Community, friends and peers can play an important role in supporting you now.

And while it may take work and time and effort to make your dream a reality, now is the time to imagine it. Remember, what you can't conceive of, you can't create.

Also, Saturn opposes Uranus this month. This is the 2nd of 3 times, and the next one will be in September (the next time this occurs won't be for decades).
It is definitely stirring things up as many are feeling the old clash with the new.
Whatever has served its purpose is now time to be upgraded and revamped...or let go of all together.

It asks you to question the course you are on, to reevaluate what you may have come to take for granted and to step up and try out some new and fresh things as you consider new options.

Zodiacal Light Vs. Milky Way

Explanation: Two fundamental planes of planet Earth's sky compete for attention in this remarkable wide-angle vista, recorded on January 23rd. Arcing above the horizon and into the night at the left is a beautiful band of Zodiacal Light - sunlight scattered by dust in the solar system's ecliptic plane. Its opponent on the right is composed of the faint stars, dust clouds, and nebulae along the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy. Both celestial bands stand above the domes and towers of the Teide Observatory on the island of Tenerife. Also out to play in the pristine, dark skies over the Canary Islands, are brilliant Venus (lower left), the distant Andromeda Galaxy (near center), and the lovely Pleiades star cluster (top center). Of course, seasoned skygazers might even spot M33, the California Nebula, IC1805, and the double star cluster of Perseus. (Need some help? Just slide your cursor over the picture.)
