Serafina--fort Lauderdale--restaurant Review

It has been many years since I have been here--and that was when it had a different name! I live right down the street and have passed many times without giving it a second thought but this time I noticed that they were serving lunch.
Most meals I eat out are at lunchtime as, to be honest, I can't afford nighttime restaurant prices so we decided to give it a try.
Allen walks with a cane and it is a long walk to the restaurant area. First thing I noticed was that the decor and outside eating area has changed--for the better.
I don't usually like eating outside but it was a cool afternoon. There was one other party so we had a choice of what table we wanted and I let Allen choose because he is a boat person. The Latter is a good thing because with the boats docked outside the restaurant that is all you can see! From the pictures out front it really looks romantic in the evening.
I'm sorry but I didn't catch the server's name but unless it is his last name I don't think it is Nicola as it says on the receipt. In any case the service was good but what separates a 4 star restaurant from a 5 star restaurant is the 'extra' service.
Allen didn't know what he wanted and we finally decided on sharing 2 dishes, which we told the server we were going to do. At a 5 star restaurant--say Mezza Luna Bistro--the server would split the two dishes where here we had to ask for additional plates and do it on our own. Not criticizing the server but just pointing out something.
We had the lasagna ($16) and Rigatoni with Meat Sauce ($14) so with tax and tip our check came to $38 and though a bit high for lunch it was worth it.
