wicked title
This evening I am going to the Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center to
see the touring company of Broadway’s “Wicked” which is still selling
out in New York and each time the tour has come to South Florida.
“Wicked” takes you behind the scenes and shows you had the good and bad
witches became who they were before “The Wizard of Oz” and the
particular friendship of Glinda, the good witch of the North and
Elphaba, The wicked witch of the West. We meet them before Dorothy--you
remember her, don’t you?--comes to Oz and while she is there.
The show has won over 50 awards, including a Grammy and 3 Tony awards,
plus has been running on Broadway to standing room only crowds since it
opened in 2003 and has toured all over the world to sold out crowds.
With a score and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, which includes “Popular”
and the show stopping “Defying Gravity”, “Wicked” picks up fans every
show.
