Tears on a Grave written by R. Walter June 18th, 2008
(Inspired by a dogsalot comment)
Â
The grass was vivid green,
and strong in growth.
Yet around this place,
the land was parched.
Â
You can tell it was a solemn spot,
yet a visited area by a lot.
It was at the top of a hill,
with one lone tree to keep it still.
Â
A marker laid at the front,
with a the name of a fallen son.
He was brave and did his best,
so that all can rest.
Â
As you read his past,
and see the mementos left.
You could feel the love he has left,
by the way the grasses have grown.
Â
For it is the tears that water his ground,
so many tears from the love ones found.
So many tears from Dad and mom,
so many tears from the promised one.
Â
So many tears from strangers who visit,
so many tears from his comrades that say a prayer.
So many tears from brothers and sisters,
So many tears, so many tears, so many tears.
