Fucking the Dog ...

Get your minds out of the gutter. I’m not talking about bestiality.

I don’t know if it’s a slang term specific to Canadians, but Janet was the one I got this from. It means take it easy (particularly when working).

More than half the staff called in because of rainy/icy weather conditions. Lots of lost power everywhere, and it’s Friday, and I’m caught up here at work. So I’m “fucking the dog” a bit.

And sometimes it pays to work for the Feds. GDub just signed an Executive Order declaring December 26th a holiday for non-essential/emergency Fed employees.

I love when Christmas lands on a Thursday…

I can't believe I missed this post with the "f" word in the title. That definitely would have gotten my attention. BTW, Merry Christmas to you and Janet. I hope you are holding each other as I write.

You've never heard of f*cking the dog before? I'd be embarrassed to hear that it's a Canadian expression... what will people think we Canadians do in our spare time?

We Canadians also call it "making puppies" in polite company but I sure know what you mean. It's like mom and dad left the house and you can watch anything you want on tv, eat pizza in the living room and walk around in your gotchies (Yanks call them undies, boxers and Brits call them knickers). What a great day.

By the way, December 26th is a holiday in most of the civilized world, we call it "Boxing Day" and it is the premier shopping day for us.... have a good one.

That is cool about the 26th!
That expression is new to me. I would love to learn how the phrase came about.
