Nascar Post Season

I am trying, really trying to get a "feel" for the "excitement that the 10 race sprint for the Title and Championship for 2009. Who will it be? Be it Martin, Gordon, Juan P., or will it be Jiimmy again, for a record 4th straight. Well, it would be one heck of an event if they had some excitement involved. Tonight, with the Nationwide, and tomorrow with the Cup, at Loews Motor Speedway will put you to sleep after the first 10 to 15 laps. What with Pro Football and Baseball Post Season as competition, lets see, now, where does the exciting sport of Nascar come into the picture. It does not and this is one reason why the sponsors are putting their money elsewhere. The racing is boring. The gall to think that we are all a buch of "chumps" to watch a 3-4 hour event, only to see the"boys" race for the last 20-30 laps. The Nascar Management team needs to regroup and rethink as to how to make this sport meaningful for the viewers., and not the drivers. The viewers pay the ticket through the purchasing of the sponsors goods, not to mention the tickets and mercha ndizing they buy at the track.
So, here I go again by asking a simple qurestion. Why not award points for laps led and make it worthwhile for a driver to want to get this type of point. 50 lap increments with 25 points awarded. You can bet the kitchen sink that this would make for excitement on the track and for excitement for the viewer.
Until then, I'll opt for football, baseball and reruns of CSI Miami.
