Us Open a Can of Worms

I really enjoyed watching the high priced pros struggling on the greens at the US Open. While I can relate to their frustration, I can not relate to their prize money. Our local course has greens that are worse than the Open, as the holes are on the side of hills and to make your put, you need the correct speed as well as the correct angle. So, I really enjoyed watching these high priced "athletes" scour at their caddies and make an ass of themselves over, what? A silly game that requires you to hit the ball, go and get it, hit it again and hopefully, you will be on the green. Well, lets get real..as these professional golphers are paid big bucks to play out their fantascies that most of us hackers do on a daily basis and do not get the financial rewards that these men do. So, unwind a little, and relax as their is always next week for the majority of the "boys". Let the game come to you. Let the course come to you. Smell the roses. See the sunshine and feel the occasional cool breeze.. Look at the various birds that inhabit the golf course and be amazed at the beauty of the surroundings. Golf on and enjoy the can of worms that was served up by the organizers of the Open. After all, we all are mortals and can not, I believe, shoot 20 under par week in and week out. Bring on the worms and lets go fishing! Great US Open for all of us hackers who experience this type of golf ona regular basis.

That course sure brought them to their knees but what awesome scenery; just breathtaking.

I loved it. The course showed them who is boss. It ate their lunches. I played PB one time (for $375 scoots) and it ate a week's worth of my lunches and dinners. I gave the golf course gods nine Pro-V1s. All of the into the surf. But it is still the most beautiful golf memory I have other than the hole-in-one I got on a par 3 in Long Beach in 2000. If Bobby Jones was alive he would be ashamed of the huge prize money the PGA gets now.

I have yet to meet one person who plays golf and did not enjoy these overpaid primas get their due.

I think it's refreshing when the pros are challenged, shows that the game isn't as easy as they make it look most of the time.

Yes it is refreshing. The pros, in most sports, are overpaid and have a "god like" attitude towards the fans and the media. Only Phil, who I do not care for, seems to make an effort to relate to the galleries that follow him around on the course.
