If they claim bankruptcy, what will 10 cents on the dollar mean to the residents of the Gulf Coast?
We lost our cat 2 years ago. Had him for l8 years and he was a pistol. We have him resting in our back yard beneath the crepe myrtles. We loved that cat and each time we go to the ocean or a special beach, we take home a small shell and place it on his final resting place. Great memories and we are glad that his final place is in our view.
Just got back from Ft Lauderdale. Where is this restaurant? Years ago their was a restaurant, I think, called the Sea Watch. It was North of Commercial on A1A headed towards Pompano Bch. While we were there, we took in the 50th anniversary of the movie, "Where the Boys Are" and had a 2 for 1 at Mal De Mer? It was on A1A just North of LAS Olas. Good drink, and a hefty price for what we had, but, we all enjoyed out time and am looking forward to returning.
Gees,Jondude, I would think that you, being an ex resident of California, would be happy for the great successes that the USC Collegiate Program obtained. I, for one, am saddened that it now comes out and that the current coaches and players need to bear the brunt of the punishment. Why not have the NCAA realize that the reason that they are successful, is that teams, such as USC, bring much to the plate in the form of revenue for intercollelgiate athletics. Why not, say it like it is, that big time College Football is a training ground for the NFL. Why not have the NFL and the NCAA join together to form one governing body for all of college athletics? Just think of the outcome when a kid can go to a school and play for his advancement to the pros, and not for a degree.
Today was 96 and with the humidity, about 105. We did, however, get in 18 holes of golf.
I think Martin is right. The last 2 events that I attended where there were thousands, guess who got the freekin cold. Moi. and it irritates me that the older I get, the more susceptible I am to the Ills of the world. Drat!!
If it worked back then, why not know? Mercury just seemed to fade away. My companion drives a Mercury Mountainer and she loves it. Sign of the times as many a dealership has gone out of business.
Sure looks nice and cool, a little Spring type of weather. Here in Floria, the Spring lasts about 3 weeks and then, whamo, 90's and the humidity will follow.
Donna Marie, good to read you again as the old sight just does not get it.
I agree with your comments about his QB skills. However, 2 years ago when the Gators were playing first and second year kids on the "D", you knew that they would need a few years to mature and grow. If not for the defensive skills and the defensive coaches, Teebow would not have the numbers he possesses.
More reason to have a playoff system installed with the top 8 teams playing for the title. I liked the GAtors going into this game and was surprised at how good Bradford was and the Sooner "D" did a good job. However, the Gators are the better of the 2 teams that played for the title and I to feel that USC could do well against either of the contenders for the title won by Florida.
Jondude, you are a man of various interests and talents. Your painting is interesting to the eye of a novice and appealing to the eye a critic.
Enjoyed reading about the QB for the Sooners. Did not know this side of his being. Sooo, it should be a good game for the first quarter and then, one of the teams will separate themselves. Your prediction is a looloo. My prediction is Florida 45 Oklahoma 31. May the better team win.
Mangini may or may not be a good fit for the Browns. I thought that Romeo would put the Browns back towards the top. I do not follow the Browns too closely, however, I would like to see them get competitive again as they do have a tremendous legacy when Paul Brown had them. Those teams were great and bring back many good memories. If the Sox get a healthy Smoltz, he will put them at the top over the Yankees. The Rays still need a dominant starter and a closer. If they get the big winner, they may just repeat. This kid, Price, has a lot of "####" and only time will tell if he proves out. If so, look for the Rays to repeat.
All kidding aside. The college champion should be decided on the field. Money has been put up by the powers to be and it looks like the next 5 years we will have the same format. No reason why football can not decide their champ on the field, as do most of the other college sports.
