I am trying to get psyched up about the upcoming season that starts in Feb with the, ahem, Great American Road Race, or the Daytona 500. Not too many sports fans are into this "sport", and I do not blame them as it has become a boring event to watch on TV. Races are just too many laps of non existant racing and nothing but a Sunday drive in the park until the last 20 - 30 laps.
I do hope that the season brings some excitement to the viewership, as the sponsors are putting our big bucks to fund the various teams.
I do hope that Jimmy Johnson wins a 5th straght title, although I am a fan of his teammate, Jeff Gordon since he came into the sport.
I do hope that Brian France is canned and a person with the passion of a DW gets the position. France is just too camned corporate and bland to lead an organization that caters to the "average Joe".
So, buckle up and get ready for the season of racing. I will do so for another year and hope that the "sport" does enough to keep me in it for another go around.
